As of May 22, there has been a total of 4,373 positive COVID cases and 77 deaths. Vaccinations by appointment are now taking place at the Health Department at 241 Atwood Street. 15,444 Harrison County residents have received the first dose of the vaccine and 14,200 are fully vaccinated.

A modified vaccination clinic will be held Friday (Moderna) and Saturday (Johnson and Johnson, 18 and over) this week from 9 am to 3 pm. Per the Harrison County Emergency Notification System: Hoosiers 16 years and older now qualify for COVID vaccination starting Wednesday March 31. In addition, a single dose Johnson and Johnson vaccination clinic will be held at First Capital Christian Church. The clinic will provide the single dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine from 9 a.m. to 1p.m. on Saturday, April 10th, but only Hoosiers age 18 and older are eligible.

The Harrison County Health Department reports that Harrison County has had 3,809 COVID cases since February 1, an increase of 129 since last week. A total of 58 deaths has been reported, which includes 9 historical deaths uncovered through a state health department audit. There have been 2 additional deaths, an 81 year-old female and a 93 year-old male, both with underlying health conditions. Remember that 40% of those who tested positive for COVID showed no symptoms.

From the Harrison County Emergency Notification System: Since March 2020, Harrison County has had a total of 2,547 confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of 12/28/20; this is 201 new cases since 12/21/2020. There has been two new deaths this week. One death is a 65 year old male, and the second a 68 year old male both with underlying health conditions. Harrison County now has a total of 36 deaths since March.

From the Harrison County Emergency Notification System: Harrison County has 2,346 confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of 12/21/20, which is 246 new cases since 12/14/2020. The Harrison County Health Department is deeply saddened to report an additional two new deaths this week. One death is an 84 year-old male with underlying health conditions. The second is a 54 year old male and it has not yet been reported if they had underlying health conditions. Harrison County now has a total of 34 deaths.
The anticipated release for vaccine information is expected soon but not released as of yet. Please continue wearing your mask, washing hands frequently and social distancing with very small groups during our Christmas Holiday season. Help keep yourself and our community safe.
